For your reference, all campus buildings are equiped with wireless access in shared areas. ITS has an ongoing wireless project to extend the secured wireless network to specific areas in the dorms and academic buildings across the campus.

Wireless networking allows users with 802.11 capable devices to access network resources. Currently Gallaudet University is supporting Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional laptops; other devices may be compatible. Gallaudet has tested several of the most popular 802.11b wireless network products and their security features and selected a product by a company named Airespace. The Airespace technology chosen will provide Gallaudet with simultaneous 802.11g through 802.11a coverage. More information on wireless standards is available at (http://www.wi-fi.org).
