To get connected to the wireless network you need:

  1. A laptop computer with a Type II PCMCIA slot (or a laptop with built-in 802.11 wireless). NOTE: "Bluetooth" wireless is not intended for connection to the campus wireless network. You must have "802.11" or "Wi-Fi" wireless.
  2. At least an 802.11b (Wi-Fi) wireless PCMCIA card with current versions of card firmware and wireless software for your computer installed. See your computer and/or wireless card manufacturer's website for info and updates.
  3. A campus active directory username and password. (Enter the username and password you already have for Bison/PeopleSoft. You will log in using your Bison/PeopleSoft username [firstname.lastname] and Bison/PeopleSoft password.)
  4. Wireless network name (SSID) set to Gallaudet.
